The Wool & West Experience
Step inside our high-alpine studio and explore a curated assortment of quality Western hats from brands like Rodeo King, Hat Masters, American Hat Makers, Gone Country, Stetson and more. Have a particular style and color in mind? We can start with a photo of something you’re inspired by, or by trying on lots of styles and colors to get a sense of what you love. We will take your measurements to ensure we get the perfect fit. Some guests love the first pre-shaped hat they try on and others need more time or more customization - that’s okay! We will walk you through the various crown and brim shapes, and the different levels of felt and construction quality. We offer a wide range of quality and styles to fit most budgets, with prices closely related to hat quality. Examples of price ranges:
Crushable Wool and Unlined Wool Hats: $90 - $140
Straw and Palm Hats: $90 - $250
3X Wool Blends and Lined Wool Hats: $120-$250
6X-7X Fur Felt Hats: $350 - $500
Full Custom Rabbit: $650+*
Full Custom Beaver:$800+*

Bands, Accessories, Jewelry: $5 - $150
Feathers: $5-$20
Branding: $20 BYOH or FREE w/ Hat Purchase (up to 3 brands)
Hat Bar: $25 BYOH or FREE w/ Hat Purchase - choose up to 3 embellishments (torn fabric, dried flower, ribbon, etc.)
Shaping: $20-$40 BYOH or FREE (if needed) w/ Hat Purchase (BYOH shaping by appointment only)
We carry both pre-creased hats and “open crowns” - both can be shaped or re-shaped to match your vision, and we can re-shape or cut brims down as needed. We are now offering fully custom, heirloom fur felt hats made to order. Please call for consultation!
Once we have found the perfect size & color, and have shaped to your liking, the final step is to accessorize with feathers or a nicer band, to style with various ribbons at our hat bar, and/or to brand with your initials, a date, or a symbol that makes a subtle statement about YOU.
When Will W&W Be Open?
Wool and West is open during holiday, event and race weekends and you can find upcoming in-store events on our instagram @woolandwest or here on our website. We also welcome guests by appointment - see below for booking info - or by reserving a private party in our studio. Wool and West can also come to YOU! Drop us a note if you’re interested in hosting a pop-up at your business or event.
